The Ancient Shrouded Armor is much more useful to a stealthy character than the standard Thieves' Guild set, but the Nightingale Armor balances that out. In terms of the rewards for going through their questlines, the DB just comes out slightly ahead, IMO.
I prefer the Dark Brotherhood because of the rewards, but only just.
